Domestic violence includes sibling abuse, elder abuse and child abuse. It is any behaviour that is intended to subjugate and control another human being through the use of humiliation, fear, and physical or verbal assaults. Domestic violence is very important issue in today's society because it has such a profound negative effect on the abused, mentally and physically, and more needs to be done to help the abused and prevent it from happening further.

Yes, I completelly agree. I was physically, sexually, and mentally abused as a child. Of course, it has had it's effects. Now I am bipolar and have ptsd. I am of course on medications to keep my illnesses under control. There should definetelly be something done about this. But we all know, there won't be. People will always be the way they are, and there will always be your crazos who beat there children. To this day, I am firmly against even spanking your children.

Yeah, me too. I hate it when people will joke about getting beat or spanked. I don't find it funny at all.

when i was 16 i got with a man who was 19, the first 3 months were great to i fell in love he was fun good looking etc etc but then he turned violent it happened slowly over time but then it was every day he would abuse me in any way he could, i lost contact with my family too so i had no one but him to rely on as i thought, this man made me snort pepper, down a whole bottle of vodka then put me in an ice cold bath, he made me steal, i fell pregnant with his baby and he made me strip naked and sleep on the balcony i was so cold but stayed there until i thought he was asleep but he caught me and stamped on my stomach until i passed out. you name it he done it to me. somehow after nearly 3 years i got the courage to break free from him. it still affects me to this day, but all through it there was many people who knew what was happening but didnt offer any help this includes policemen and nurses
