Some questions for fellow readers and/or writers of fanfiction! Why do you like reading fanfiction? what kind of fanfiction do you like to read. what kind of fanfiction do you hate? Do you review it? For people who write it- what kind of fanfiction do you write, and do you ever get bad reviews and then delete them? Does everyone get excited when they see new reviews?

I write fanfiction. For That 70s Show (one of the best sitcoms ever, lol). I've written 4 stories (2 are finished, the other 2 I'm working on). I get really sad when I don't get reviews. I just posted 3 new chapters the other day and only got 3 reviews so far. My one friend has over 500 reviews for her story. I have like 60 total for my 24 chapters. Oh well. I don't think I have gotten a bad review. I have started to read more now, too. Just for that show right now because I'm focused on finishing my stories. If I read anything else I'll want to write that and get myself frustrated.

I really enjoy fanzines over the fanfic on the net - something about the paper between my fingers, I am just an old fanzine type fan.... I like to read U.N.C.L.E. fanfic & The Sentinel fanfic, but there's a LOT of slash in the latter. I had a friend do a gen Professionals fanzine & get so blasted she nearly dropped out of fandom all together.

I was reading harry potter fanfic but now I read the more obscure fanfic like American gothic, friday the thirteenth the series, hex, and other shows like that, that don't have a huge fanbase.

I don't write fanfiction but I do like to read them. Mostly lately it's been Harry Potter fanfiction but I have in the past read Xena/Hercules, Buffy/Angel, X-men and even some Stargate fanfiction. I have found some great writers and when I really enjoy their work I let them know. I will admit there are some out there I haven't enjoyed but that is just my personal opinion. I don't leave comments to those either way because I know others might enjoy it.

I read about fanfiction in the "Wall Street Journal," but I've never been to a site or tried to do this. Can someone tell me more about this? Is there a central place people do this, or many separate sites? I'd love to learn more. Can anyone give me some hints about where to find these websites? Thanks.

Well there's fanfiction.net which has a lot of bad and some good fanfiction. It really depends on what you would want to read.

I love fanfiction. I mostly read Harry Potter fanfic lately. I started out reading Buffy fanfic. I don't really review it that much. I've never really wrote that much fanfic because I don't have time, but I wish I did.

I typically don't bother reading or writing fan-fiction as if I were a fan of the characters then I would stick to cannonical material because those are the folks that know it best. I don't write it because I write only stuff that I hope to get published or produced and fan-fiction hardly ever gets you either. So I concentrate on my own creative inspiration and create new stuff rather than ape someone else 90% of the time.

When I was younger, I wrote fanfiction about video games like the Final Fantasy series and of some anime shows. I rarely play video games or watch anime anymore so I don't write anymore fanfiction. I prefer to write original ideas since I can't make money from fanfiction.
