The "race" factor in finding true love

Have you ever heard the phrase "There's someone for everyone" or "true love will find you"? Well, I was wondering, if that's true, why does a person's race have to play a role in "love". Yes there are interracial relationships, but there's not many. My thing is, why does people of the same race or ethnic background have to be together? This is my opinion/theory. If I meet a person who has an amazing personality, have common interests as myself, and understand, comprehend, and respects my culture, then I would date that person. To me, skin color doesn't bother me, it's really about the person within. So why are there so many same race relationships? If my spirit connected with another spirit who wasn't african american, then I would not hold that against them. Love is love, regardless of that person's skin color or ethicity. What do you all think?
