There are many people in the world can't say 'NO' to anybody. I believe there are many people in this world who are very much concerned about how other people think about them that they sacrifice what they really want to do just to impress... There are students who cant say 'NO' to the pressures of their peers and there are parents who cant say 'NO' to the demands of their spoiled kids. I think people should not act this way.. All people should learn how to say 'NO' at times because for me, always agreeing to everyone would mean a 'dead-fish' personality - a person like that goes with the flow forever.. What do you think??

I used to be like that and I usually end up being unhappy about myself because I am forcing myself to do things that I don't want to do for fear of ridicule. Learning to say no and setting bounderies is a way of HONORING ONESELF. Honoring yourself means being okay with who you are and what you are and giving yourself the choice not to do the things you dont' want to do. If you don't say no and and let other people dictate your actions, you live by default. You are actually being a coward and mediocre because you won't grow and learn by letting others dictate you. Saying 'NO' means you take a stand, you take responsibilities, consciously make a choice, you learn, you take courage, you face the consequences and you honor yourself by being TRUE TO YOURSELF.

Great opinion! I wish more people would think like you.. In fact I have posted this discussion to know how other people think of people who are always compelled to agree to everything - because there are people around me who dont know how to say 'NO' and it's very good to note that there are people like you who have developed such good thinking regarding this issue...

I have a problem saying no to people, I just hate to disappoint people, or maybe the people I know just don't ask unreasonably....

Well I guess you should start learning to say 'NO' because you cat just agree to what everyone wants forever... I believe you should also start thinking about yourself and not other's opinions..

People should also learn their limitations. It's good that you actually say 'NO' to things to which you are certain that you cannot do. I think that's great!

I personally love to find a reason to say 'NO' about anything. I don't care what it is, I think too many people in this world are always saying YES that I have to be the person to say NO. Of course there are exceptions but usually even with my kids when they ask me for something I first tell them NO to see their reaction while I think about the real answer I'm going to give them. :)

I would hardly ever say no to anyone because I didn't want to let them down. But there are people out there that take advantage of people who are to helpful. After a while I got sick of being used so now I saw the word no alot unless I truly know for sure that this person really needs my help and that I don't feel like I am being used.

Saying NO to something is a sign of a positive life. That means you know how to limit yourself if you know the situation is getting worse already. If you can't say NO to someone, sometimes it's considered as a good thing but we must also learn how to refuse sometimes so that the person will not become too abusive. - Ron Reyes www.ronreyes.co.nr
