Why we should learn English

In my country, Malaysia, English is one of the compulsory subjects in school. The reason of learning English is simply because it's the International language, where you can use English to communicate with people from other countries. Although not all the people speak English, we need to pick a common language to communicate with each other. In my country, not all Chinese speak or know Chinese language, but they are good in English. Yeah, I actually don't understand this, as they don't even know their mother tongue, but they think English is more important and competitive.

Because English is widely spoken in the world.It becomes more and more important in our society.If we speak English well,we can travel around the world and communicate with others,moreover ,we can find a good job. some students'English are better than Chinese,I think maybe they want another way to express themselves and they speak English more often.

It's a little bit surprising if they can speak English better than Chinese, but it's a very good thing that they can speak English. They're going to need it in the end no matter what. I live in a country in the middle east and each year it feels like people my age and younger are getting better at spoken English. It's because of all the Western music and movies. But I think it's a good thing for their future.

First and foremost, all of us must learn how to speak English because it is the internally accepted language in the whole world.We should learn to speak English in order to have a better understanding and knowledge of the world around us.Wherever we go almost every part of the world every one knows how to speak English thus it is a better way to communicate with them if you knows how to speak English.

though you are complaining, i can see you have made many efforts into your English study because your English is quite good. i'm Chinese too and i can understand how you feel when learning English. i think you will find English is useful not only for passing exams but also for your life and work. think of those English majors, besides English, they have to learn another foreign language. isn't that awful?

Learning English is a much since English is the most popular language in world. We need to learn so we can communicate with others. But i don't see any point in English is better than Chinese. As China is a country growing rapidly, i can see lots of foreigner trying to learn Chinese hard because they see the trend, they need to do business with Chinese. I think every language are equal...

It is good to speak both languages. China is a fast growing country. Other people are actually learning Chinese either Cantonese or mandarin. Well, I think its best that you treasure the pride of your country.

English is almost accepted as a link language universaly. I am from India. We have several vernacular languages in India. Hindi is considered the national language. But even now English is the communication language between state governments. India from the colonial years has an education policy based on english. This knowledge of the language has helped many of my countrymen to find better placement in life. English education is quite common in India. Knowledge of English is useful to us in many ways.
