Which is the best free antivirus?

i need antivirus in my computer but i dont like spend money i need you help to can download the best antivirus i work with my computer and need that this antivirus dont spend much resources. I have amd sempron 2300 1500MHz 512 ram. Which is the best free antivirus to my computer?

i wud suggest "kaspersky"... u have to pay a little for getting that anti-virus, but its worth it... none of the free anti-viruses are of any use! coz of this great software, my computer hasnt crashed for about 7 months now!! and thats actually a record for me! LOL Take CAre

i know i lot of people taht havent problem with kapersky and emule if you left run this program very much time they consume a lot of resources. And i need run emule and designer programs because i need the resources need other antivirus that not spend this

Yes i agree with you. I havent got any problem when using kaspersky anti virus. When i put my thumb drive KAV automatically detect the virus inside it.

Instead of using free, because some of them have limitations in function. I use the hacked ones, the best product that i used is the Zone Alarm Security Suite, It has a good built in anti virus program, but that's not all, it has a great Firewall, Anti Spyware. But when i upgrade to their latest version, i got some error on my computer, its a good program but i think the new version isn't compatible with my OS or maybe there's a bug. So i switch to CA Etrust Internet Security Suite, Its almost the same as Zone Alarm, but Not as better as Zone Alarm. Cheers=)

AVG free - Its free and probably one of the best antivirus available. Quite efficient. Try it
I think AVG free version is probably the best available one. I used to use Avast also, but found that it slows down my computer like crazy. So go for AVG free!

We have used the McAffee before but now we are using AVG and we have been using AVG for more than a year now. I think AVG is the best. We downloaded it free and you may get it for free also. Just go to the AVG site.

Try Avg Free Edition and Avast Antivirus its good i use it ,its free,no cost for use it.
