What are the best wedding gifts for office colleagues. I guess, we all pool money and take a gift. What is the best gift? I reckon that a gift/cash voucher from a shopping mall is a good one, as the person rather the couple might be receiving more such vouchers and pool them together (even put in some cash) and buy something expensive such as TV or fridge or some extra large shopping. Even the cash voucher alone will be good enough to get something. What do you say folks?

we all have to be practical now a days. i think giving your colleague a gift/cash voucher would be more useful for them. it saves you the time to think of the best wedding gift. by giving them a gift/cash voucher, you allow them to buy something that really need and want. you could give them the perfect wedding gift by buying something from a store. but that gift might not be perfect or useful to them.

I've asked my soon to be married and married friends about this. They have all told me that would prefer cash. In fact, one friend even mentioned that she was terribly upset when she received a present instead of cash. This was because she needed the cash to pay for the wedding. Weddings can be very expensive. I've also come across couples who expressedly said that they would prefer cash. It's even stated on their wedding invitation card.

How about a nice meal at a nice restaurant? I like unusual gifts - one wedding we went to personally, we bought a huge bowl, big pot, strainer and all the fixins for spaghetti - theme gifts are nice...

A cash voucher would be a good one. Pooling money from all and then giving the couple the cash voucher and some flowers and a card....

It is best to give a Check or Cash Voucher. Your colleague will really appreciate it. No use in giving the Tea Pots or the cups and saucers or kind of silver made items. Oflate, we pool money and then write a check.. I prefer this is the best so that they can use it to buy anything of their choice. On the contrary sometimes people feel that they should gift something so that the friend would remember for a long time. If it is something special your friend would remember you for a long time. If it is check or cash voucher, they may forget it in a weeks time. Both has pros and cons..

If you want to give a gift certificate, then a great one is from American Express which can be used anywhere and has no expiration date. You can probably purchase it right online too.
