How I was scammed Beware of mortgage brokers pushing lenders wanting a fee before approving your loan. I lost $4 million in British scam promoted through New Zealand brokers, Grant Nicholson, of Havelock north, and Keith Charles Foote and Graham Earnest Goodeve, both of Hastings. The fraud was also backed by Bay of Plenty brokers John Thompson and Syd Paris. The British man running the scam, Ronald Alexander Bellamy, was extradited to this country by the Serious Fraud Office in Auckland. On June 27, Bellamy admitted 20 fraud offences committed on New Zealanders. He is in custody awaiting sentencing on July 28. None of these so-called brokers is a member of the New Zealand Mortgage Brokers ssociation, which at least has a code of ethics.

Are you going to get your money back if they convict him on fraud?
