Hi aissha, yes i do believe in celebrating birthdays, anniversary, Christmas, New year,.I don't do a lot but i do celebrate some.I always send cards to my out of towners, and make a cake for the ones here with me for birthdays. At Christmas I always buy for my little ones, but not always the big ones,I have way to many to buy for them all.I am also part indian but i don't celebrate everything.

We celebrate all the holidays that come around . Some we make a bigger deal out of then others but we do celebrate them all . The biggest one's we celebrate are Christmas , Easter and the children's birthdays . Some of them are a waste of money but they all mean something to the children and so we try and make the day fun for them as most of these are for the children anyway and I want to see them happy , we try to make it the best day for them . My husband says I go overboard but my logic is they are only young for such a short period of their lives and I don't want my children to ever have less in life then I did when I was a child .

celebrating occasions is not waste of money and its a enjoyment for the whole family..it brings our neighbours close to us and we share our extreme happiness of occasions with friends.offcourse in India we have lot of festivals in a year but celebrating them with fixing up a budget will defintely help us..

I love to sit at home and watch television after whole day's hard work. Occasions and festivals only enegizes me to move out of home with family and enjoy the day with them. I don't think that they all should be celebrated but surely few of them deserve to be celebrated. ( depends on person's choice , as such I like holi ,diwali and new year birthday's ofcourse ) Yes these occasions waste lot of money but then why are we earning for. They can be ignored if there is someother important task ahead.

I don't think celebrating life events and holidays are a waste of time. I think that we have gotten so far connected from what it means to celebrate life, birth, christmas, easter, and so on. We have become so consumer minded and are always trying to out-do what we did last year or what someone else has done that we are disconnecting from what celebration means. If only we could remember that!

im chinese and we dont celebrate the smae stuff in america. so we just take the holidays as chance for out family to gather and reunite together for a day. the big tihngs we celebrate is chinese newyears, mid autumn festival, and couple others, but these are two of the big ones.
