i tihnk they make minimal profits from sales and such. they are probably not faulty or outofdate. i tihnk sales are just to lure u into the shop in the first place so when you are inthere, your eye catches something not on sale and you will buy it. that is where they really make their money. sales are just a bait

It's profitable for the stores isn't it? They mark things up so high, that the sale really isn't much of a sale for us. They're still making a nice profit and we really don't get much of a good deal afterall.

I try to just buy things when I need them, but if I hear of a good sale then I will visit the shop and have a browse around. The last time I went to a sale, there was some name brand bedsheets that were marked 'seconds' and I decided to buy them. I looked for the flaw and it was just a couple of threads pulled at the edges. I thought they were a great bargain as these sheets normally cost up to €50 and I got them for only €8.

If you have a need for the product and it is cheaper on sale then you are saving money. However, spending money without a need would not really be saving you any money. I don't think faulty products are offered as on sale. Most things go on sale when over stocked or end of season for clothing. Faulty items are mainly sold as "irregulars" and thus must be marked as such. You will find these kind of items at Outlet Malls and stores.

You can have a good bargain if you take advantage of these sales promotions. Just make sure that you have inspected thoroughly the items you have selected. There are a lot of good items that they offer on sale. I stay away from those which have defects. They can't be of much use anymore. Stainless steel or aluminum objects with slight dents are fine though. These items will still be very useful considering that the items are still intact, the dents do not have any effect on their serviceability anyway.

The saying "you get what you pay for" seems to be true, but I suppose if you have time to comparison shop and are really up on the product you want to buy you can find deals.
