I want to use Lime wire to download music and videos. Is it legal to use Lime wire in USA to down load the music or any other file. I do not want ot use it if it is not legal in the states.

When you download Lime wire, an agreement appears showing that you are allowed to your their program if you do not use it to download illegal files. It was placed there for legal's sake, although many people ignore it and continue to download and upload illegal files and the Lime Wire Staff cannot keep check of every single file.

I would also like to point out that Lime wire has the same Terms of Service for any country I believe, so it would not "only" be applied to the United States.

I've been using it for a few years now with no problem if they were illegal it wouldnt take much for the laws to have them shut down already. From what i heard napster was making a killing off people thats why they were shut down
