Does being single necessarily mean ' Ready to Mingle'. This though has crossed my mind many a times... I am a single man in my early 30's. A lot many women have asked me when introduced as single... So you 'Ready to Mingle'? Is this something that is perceievd by most people in the world. Could it not be that single but maybe seeing someone and not committed yet ????

Well When you look at it, it makes sense cause your single and your possiblly looking to hook up with a woman. Mingle is just an old word for hooking up.

It seems that everyone wants to hook you up with someone or wants to hook up with you when you are single. I think it's worse for single women. "Everyone" keeps asking me when I'm going to get married and blah blah blah. I definitely believe in "seeing" someone, but not being committed to them. I call it "we're going on dates".

No it shouldn't anyway! Single to me means just that single, not seeing anyone! I don't like when people ask are you 'ready to mingle', just because your single shouldn't mean you want to get involved.... some things can be left to enjoy!
