Does the media deliberately lie?

I ran accross this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7wr0TCgEGQ (man its a pain to type this stuff in). I agree there are definately not reporting the facts but do you think this was somewhat of a get back at the people who were making there jobs harder or do you think it was a simple mistake. Maybe you think these people kind of got what they had coming for harrassing them. Or do you think they are right and that this is just a small tip of how much the media lies on a daily base?

I am curious why they didn't show what lead up to police "attacking" those people. Or the fact the news reporter and photagrapher were maced. That Jim agreed not to film the people filming him if they agreed to do the same. There is a lot to that demonstration that was cut out by the people who put this clip together. These are the same reporters who show police brutality, who uncover politician mess ups. I think if they had let all of the tapes run so you could see the whole thing, people might have a different opinion. These people who put this clip together are no different then the man they were protesting. KATU has some of the more opened minded journalists I have ever seen. Sorry it just makes me angry when stories are twisted to try to make people look good or bad

I also noticed they only seem to have 3 of the 4 major news networks in that clip

I defentily think that the media lies. Just like 911 I have heard that Bush knew all about it before it happened.

thanks for the reply. I dont know what Bush knew but there definately seemed to be someone who knew with some of the things that happened with trading and other things. I usually dont count anything as coincedence but dont know how much stock I should put into all of it without getting my tinfoil hat on.

I spent the 90s in EMS and Disaster Recovery missions. I have been interviewed by the "press" around a dozen or so times. In every case they either took the quote out of context or changed it altogether. I have been on the scene where reporters are "coming to you live", never once did their report match what was happening on the ground. Yes, they lie through their sparkling white teeth. From Hurricane Andrew and Katrina to the Mine disaster in Pennsylvia to Iraq, try to remember a single major story that they got right. you can't! Why? Because they are too incompetent, lazy and dishonest to care.

Yes! definitely they are LYING.If you are in America i'll tell you in the Philippines the journalist and newsman are being dictated and swayed by the western journalist to deliberately lie when it comes to politics and economics. The reason for this in case you haven't figure it out is because they are being paid by the big corporations to lie because this corporations are the ones who rakes in profit for the bills that are made by our lawmakers through lobbying. All this privatization, oil deregulation,e- vat and others are the brains of these big corporations in America. If you don't believe me,why in all these laws the partners and the financiers are American company. And to make it worse the finances are all in papers and they just borrow from our local banks. Two birds in one stone. If you still dont believe me go to Guerilla News in the internet it is an american based company.
