How safe and effective is online dating?

My inbox is not only full of scams, advertisements and impossible offers but also ads about finding singles in your area and internationally speaking. Sometimes people get in trouble, especially girls, through text messaging alone what more on the internet?

I don't believe in online dating. And those who try to find partners from chatrooms. How can that be possible? Maybe there are a few which end up with marriage, i know, but most do not.

i agree that online dating and chatrooms arent for everyone..but it works for some..did for me!

It depends on how you date online? useing Myspace is not an effective place to do it because there's no security in it, useing a source such as mate1 or something along those lines would probably be better for you. As far as scams, there's people all over trying to scam me all day long I just delete what sounds to good to be true and most often something in my e-mail box just gets deleted.

I think online dating is simple and good way to know some one who never seen. Because i was propose to my girl friend by online dating.

well in my case online dating was very effective and i controlled my safety factor by of course chatting for a good long while with this man on a messenger then at last we traded telephone numbers and talked for a long time just about every night to every other night for hours at a time..finally we decided to meet.. i told him that i would meet only under certain conditions # 1 was we had to meet in a very public place..and i would not go anywhere with him that wasnt full of people..and i kept that going for a long time until i was ready to meet under different circumstances..and low and behold guess what? i married him..! lol..hes my husband..we dated for 4 years and we are married now for 1 year! so the online dating can work just depends on a few things starting with your safety and of course chemistry along with going with your gut feelings..never ignore them..they are kinda like your feelers!
