I would like to know more about the Muslim faith.

I have many sincere questions about the Muslim faith and I am hoping someone in that faith will answer them for me. I am a Christian, but I want to understand more. For instance, I have read that Christians, Jews and Muslims all believe in the same God...the God of Abraham. Do you consider that to be true?

Hello Susieq. I hope you're doing well tonight. :) I am not Muslim, and I haven't done as much research into Islam as I would like to, but ~ have you ever visited the religous tolerance site? They have some very interesting information on a wide variety of different religions. I found the page on Islam specifically, if you would like to check it out: http://www.religioustolerance.org/islam.htm Let me know if that link works for you. As for my personal opinion on your original question, Yes ~ I do believe that Muslims, Christians, and Jews all believe in the same God. I have tried to read the Quran, but I haven't found the time to get through all of it yet (I started about 6 years ago when I was pregnant with my first. Since then, little time has been "mine" with two babies, lol). The first chapter, from what I can tell, is so simliar to the Bible that I would venture to say they are virtually identical. And, thus far, that is the way the story is going. Now, I do know that, like Jews, Muslims believe that Jesus was a great prophet. And, again like people of Jewish faith, Muslims do not believe that Jesus was the Son of God. The site above is chalk full of much more interesting and overly researched information than I can likely provide though, so if you're truly interested in learning more about different faiths, I definately recommend checking it out. Good luck with your questions, and I hope you have a blessed evening. :)

I think the point of most religious beliefs should be to show kindness to one another. I believe love is or should be the central theme in religious faith. I know that a lot of religious people do not show much love and that is a shame. God bless you too. Thanks for your reply.

Hello brotherwhat i want to tell u is that all of us believe in one God but what is the difference is that christians dont believe practically in one God.Saying that there is one God isnt enuf .practically u have do it. When u believe in one God then u shud not believe in Jesus as son of God or other things like that. Jesus Christ was one of the mightiest messengers of God but he himself never claimed divinity.Believe in that first.

Are you saying that both Muslims and Chrisians do believe in the same God, but that Muslims do not believe in the Trinity? Am I understanding that correctly? That is helpful, thank you.

I'm not from a Muslim faith but I have friends who are Muslims and sometimes we discuss the religion topic. I think the three main monotheist religions believe in the same God which is the God of Abraham. I know that Muslims and Jews are "cousins" because Abraham had two wives. The first wife is Sarah and she gave birth to Isaac and the other wife I forgot her name gave birth to Ismael. From Isaac we have the Jews and from Ismael the Arabs. That's all I know and I hope that helps.

I know the Old Testament states that Abraham had two sons and that the Muslim religion came from Ishmael, but I wasn't sure the Muslims believed that. Thanks for replying. I appreciate it.
