From recipes for fried bananas, to banana sandwiches, banana pies, fruit salads and more, there are great types of different tropical food combos that are perfect with the sweetness of a delicious banana. Bananas are picked after once they have matured, but while they are still green. However, before eating, bananas should be completely ripened. Banana fruit baskets would make a great gift for any culinary enthusiast who loves to cook with tropical fruit. The fact of the matter is the downfall, as well as the blessing, of the nature of banana trees. These trees produce fruits that ripen all at the same time. Therefore, you send them to be sold, dispersed and used, or they rot and are wasted to mush or are food for hungry insects. An over-sized banana is likely a plantain. A plantain is a part of the banana family, however, they are much less sweet and are used for other purposes. For example: plantains are often used in recipes for other cultures. Bananas are great for cooking. They taste awesome in virtually every kind of fruit smoothie. Yum. The banana is actually among the most nutritious of all of the fruits and vegetables. They are often “staples,” so to speak for cultures all over the world to sustain their nutritional needs. But aside from that – they are sooo yummy . . . am I right? It is not necessary to refrigerate a banana as you may some other kinds of fruit. If you decide to refrigerate bananas – do not let the discoloration of the peel deceive you. The peel will darken and may even turn black – while the fruit inside remains ripe. As a matter of fact, one of my favorite ways to eat bananas is to peel it, dip it in a chocolate fondue and then freeze it. There are many different ways to eat bananas and everyone has their own personal favorite. So jump on in – the banana recipes you discover may be exactly what you want. You may discover that a gift basket with bananas may be the perfect solution for someone you know. Cook it or not, bananas are great fresh tropical fruits. And perhaps you will find the perfect way for you to enjoy a banana is just to sit back, peel and munch on the natural, delicious desert.
