I do not like music backgrounds or somebody talking in a website or blogsite

This is just my opinion. I find it quite distracting, not to mention it somehow slows down the loading of the website. Also, since I share a room with my husband and toddler and I work on the computer while my toddler is asleep, a sudden noise would wake him up. My tendency then is to close the window or the tab which contains the website with the music/talking. It's faster than looking for the volume control. Now, my default is to put my computer on mute. I'll just turn up the volume if I want to.
It's just my opinion. I just wonder if other people feel the same way about this, or I'm just a weird one :).

I also get annoyed with sites that have music or sound especially if I dont expect it. Its distracting and can suddenly be loud. Also a lot of the flash pages take time to load and can freeze my computer - so it really irritates me.
If I am listening to music on my comp the background sound from the new website can be quite irritating.

Same here, I don't like loud sounds. We are also in one room with my kids and husband. When kids are asleep, thats my time to work on the pc. I've had this experience before that my baby woke up because of the sound in the pc, and my working time was cut short. So everytime, I would just mute the volume just after starting the pc.

I do that too! Actually, my computer is always muted nowadays, I just turn on the volume when needed.

No, it's not. Actually, I like music. I even listen to them on my computer. What I don't like is music on a webpage. It makes it so hard to load. Also, I do not want a sudden sound from my computer, especially when I want things to be quiet around here :)

Same here. Sometimes when I checked the profile of someone, my computer will suddenly hang. It's pretty irritating since the music or whatever else is there slows my computer.

Yes, it's irritating when it bogs down the computer. That's why I'm not a fan of too much clutter on the website, like music and a too busy looking background. :)
