One of my flatmates is like a cleaning fanatic, and she has like 3-4 showers a day and washes her hands for like 2 minutes. She washes them before she does everything... and shes like in the bathroom most of the time. I only wash my hands before I eat and use the computer (because its white and it gets dirty easily) and I only wash them for like 30 seconds, if I'm in a rush then I'll probably wash them for less than 10 seconds. What about you?

I think this is something that varies from person to person and from place toplace. In our country we are taught to wash our hands before every meal and after every meal. We are not supposed to enter the kitchen with our slippers on to maintain the snactity of the food being prepared. So I think I can empathise with your friend. However in todays fast world thinking of doing an elaborate ritual of washing hands or body 3 to 10 times a day is impossible. Personally I stick to washing hands before and after every meal and washing myself once a day. I also think there are some people who are cleanliness freaks who think germs will invade their body if they don't wash up properly. Its ok there are all kinds of people in the world.

I wash my hands properly. I wash my hands frequently. I cannot stand to be in a public potty and see people not wash their hands.

i wash my hands a lot, but i wouldnt say im a fanatic about it. i wash my hands before and after eating anything. after handling any pets (even if its just a pat on the head). before and after using the bathroom. i guess i wash my hands for about 30 to 40 seconds..with lots of soap and the water as hot as i can take it. but 2 minutes does seem like a long time lol! but like someone above me said...to each his own. if washing that frequently gives her peace of mind then thats great. you are not her..so why does it bother you? its not like she is making you wash yours.
