I was hit by a car yesterday

My husband, son and I were walking in the market yesterday and a massive SUV came roaring through the market and did a fast turn in front of us. I grabbed my husband (who was carrying my son) and pulled him back because I saw the guy coming. He was going way too fast for a pedestrian area on a market day. Anyway, we were continuing on our way when the driver decided he had made a mistake and without any warning at all, backed up just as fast and smashed into me!
Now, I am not that tall, but I am certainly visible in the rearview mirror, and at 8 months pregnant, I am certainly hard to miss! So I think this guy didn´t even look behind him, he just zoomed backwards. Apart from being a bit bruised, I was ok, but my husband was angry and banged on the guy´s window. The idiot then rolled down his window and started yelling at us, saying if we couldn´t stay out of his way, we should stay home! Is this not the most ridiculous thing you have ever heard? If this had happened in my home country of Canada, the guy would have been in so much trouble! I would have sued back home!

I'm glad you're ok!
I HATE stupid drivers. People like that should NOT be allowed to drive. Ever. Seriously, I feel that drivers should take a driving test every so many years so people can keep a check on how they are really driving. That way if they see anything wrong with their driving skills, they can take their license away and prevent them from driving for the safety of others.

Personally, I think cars should be banned from the market on market days, if not all the time. There are literally hundreds of people walking there, with little kids and big market bags and baskets on their heads and the cars think they have the right of way! It is so stupid. Also, I suspect that many of these bad drivers just bribed their way into a license, as that is very common down here.

That's scary, and you're PREGNANT too!!!! Damn!!!!!! The guy had no right to act the way he did, and then to yell at you. Holy crap!!! I hope the baby will be OK.

What a close shave! I am glad that you and your family are alright.
I have had such close shaves before too when I almost got knocked down. Some drivers just think they own the roads.

I hope you are fine. I am sorry to hear what happened to you. There are many reckless drivers on the road these days. i wonder how they got their driving license in the first place. Not only they drive badly, but also, they would be rude to other drivers and these people are always equipped with abusive words and hand gestures.
The funny thing is that most of these drivers drive big cars or SUV and somehow they think that they own the road just because they own more expensive cars. They are just idiots!
