At what age did your child move to a bed?

My son will be 16 months old when his brother arrives and I really don´t want to buy another crib when this will be our last child. I was thinking of putting the new baby in a bassinette until he is about 5-6 months old, then moving my older son to a bed and the baby to the crib. My son will be nearly 2. What do you think? If it is a low toddler bed, he should be fine, right?

you can also buy bed rails as well for toddler beds...he should be fine...When my daughter was born my son was only 18 months old and I only had the one crib but I ended up having a family bed (both kids slept with me in my bed)...and that went on for a few yrs actually...But IMO if its a lower bed with a rail put on it (you can buy them at walmart etc) you're little one should be just fine

That is exactily what I did with 2 of my kids. My oldest daughter was still in a crib when I had my middle daughter so I put her in a bassinett then when my oldest turned 2 we got a toddler bed for her and put the baby in the crib. It really worked out for us really good.

my son was 2 when my youngest was born. I actually bought a regular size bed and we had it up against the wall with a protective railing on the other side. He was fine. If you go with the toddler bed, I don't see that you should have any problems.
