Once upon a time when the Bubonic Plague was threatening European health in 17th century, the Pope declared a new law that must people to say "God Bless You" (Gesundheit in Germany) when somebody sneeze. In that time, it was believed that when people sneeze they were spreading the evil from their body.

It has been proven that your heart stops beating for a fraction of a second when you sneeze. This might also be an appropriate story as to why we say "God bless you" when somebody sneezes hehe..
