Squid soap...will it really help?

I don't have any children, but the other day on the news I saw a product that caught my attention. Squid soap, which can be found at www.squidsoap.com, is being sold as a product that will get kids to wash their hands. So many germs are spread and illnesses are caught because children don't want to wash their hands, or they forget to. The idea is that the unusual bottle will make children WANT to wash their hands. Do you think it can work? Has anyone bought squid soap? If it is effective, I would think day care centers world wide would want to use it. And as far as I know, no squid was harmed in the making of the soap. : )

I haven't heard of Squid soap, but the thing that comes to my mind is...if people don't have a habit of handwashing, no new soap, however great it is, is going to get them to wash. There are many soaps that are effective, but getting people to use them is the problem. Parents and teachers need to encourage regular hand washing so the kids will develop the habit early. My six year old granddaugher washes her hands more frequently than I do!!

That's a good habit for your granddaughter to have! : ) I heard about a second grade class watching a video over hand washing, and I thought what a waste of time that was. But, now I don't think it is! Habits like that need to be ingrained early, and with all the other issues parents and teachers have to be on the ball about, handwashing doesn't seem quite so important. But it really is.

You are welcome. I almost wish I were a kid because I like odd things and as an adult it doesn't seem to be so cute when other people see me use it. LOL

I just watched the video on the website. That is hilarious but effective. My daughter works at a daycare center and she thinks that it would be great there. If I had little kids at home I would be wanting to try it out. In fact, it might be fun to try it out anyway!

I haven't heard of this product yet, but I know when my son was younger he loved the kids liquid soap for the bathtub with SpongeBob Squarepants on it and Spiderman. It just might work. My mother works as a volunteer foster grandparent in a school where we live and she says a lot of times the children will go to the bathroom and not wash their hands. If she is in there at the time she will make them stop and wash them before they leave. Hopefully this product will work.

It's probably just a sales gimmick, but if it helps to get the kids to wash their hands, it's worth a try.
