I am interested in getting your thoughts and opinions on why you think people hate? Is it fear based, culture, or lack of information that drives this emotion? I try not to use the word, for me the use of it only feed the beast and continues the cycle. What do you think?

For me hate is brought about by an ill feeling towards someone. A person hates another for enormous reasons. There is hatred in the family, in a boy-girl realtionships, among friends/colleagues and even hatred between nations. Certainly it is very difficult to deprive oneself to hate someone who makes you sick or someone who annoys you. But eventually hatred will surpass in due time but in a case to case basis. I might hate my siblings for a while for some petty reasons yet there are those who been hating and holding grudges to their siblings or any members of the family and there is no intention of talking to them again. As much as possible we should avoid this ill feeling because it won't bring any good.

I think most hate is driven by a combination of fear and ignorance. It's basic human nature to "fear the unknown," or things that are "different," because ultimately some kind of "herd conformity" offers a better chance of survival than standing out in left field. That's at least the biological/genetic undertones. In these modern days, that part is probably not very relevant, except in terms of how it interacts with ignorance. People make assumptions based on ignorance, rather than take the time "find out" about stuff. Maybe it's because many are fundamentally lazy... it takes more work to learn about something, than to just jump to conclusions. The National Enquirer has 10x more readers than the New York Times.

People HATE against another for many diffrent reasons. It could be because they are jelous, or lack of knowledge. It could be for a real reason that someone was really hurt. It really depends on the person in question and the topic in question.

people hate others because they have their own insecurities.. they hate other people to keep others away so that they don't become vulnerable to them... it's very rare that someone hates another because of something that they have done... it's alwayz because of their own personal fears and moreover.. fear of the unknown...
