Do you have moles?

I don't mean the kind in the ground...
I have a lot of moles and have had a number removed - they have all been nothing, but after a friend had a spot taken off & it was melanoma I've been more careful about my own moles.
I've also got a few that I am, well, fond of. I've one on the palm of my hand, its pretty pale now, but it was very obvious when I was younger. My sister has some very large ones, but most aren't where you can see them, on her back. At this point I've had almost all the ones that you could see - that are dark removed. I do have a number that are pale or flat that you can see (on the arms & face.) But most of my dark, raised moles are removed where they get the most sunlight. I still have a few on my back I'm told, but even there I had about 5 removed...
The skin doctors always have to look at the one on my hand - they find it very curious.

I have two moles in the back of my neck that have been there since I was a little girl. My brother also has the same moles and so did my mother. I think they are hereditary and they are flesh colored. I also have some tiny ones under my arm the same color. I do not have any dark colored ones, just flesh colored ones that are rather annoying, more like warts really.
Oh you did not go around and touch any frogs or toads recently, did you? :)

I do not, but I can understand why people get them removed although they were given/ "creaed" by God and are natural, Therefore, all who have moles should not NEED to remove them...................................

Well, I've had, as I've previously posted, about 10 already removed. I assure you, that I have more than 10 moles left. I had most of these removed at the recommendation of a doctor.
I just a week ago had a spot frozen on my face, but it wasn't a mole. I might be a bit more jumpy about spots and stuff because I already have enough, and because my friend, my mother and one of my cats have all had different kinds of skin cancer.

I believe that we all have some moles in our bodies. Mine are mostly black flat ones. The red ones are usually not flat but they are all small ones. I have seen some of my mom's which are really big and bulging black ones. These are the kind which others get removed. I have this problem about having warts though. I had them all removed something like 10 years ago and now they are back again.

I had a job that I had to handle lots of paper from various places &, in the process, got a LOT of warts on my hands. I had 2 when I started & pretty soon I had about 30, most quite small, but a couple very painful. I went to the doctor & he tried freezing them off. That hurt &, after the alotted time, only about 3 came off. Then my insurance changed & I changed doctors. He told me about this medicine they shot into the wart &, after a few weeks it falls off. We tried that. It didn't feel good getting over 20 shots on both hands, but after a week the ones that hurt stopped, after 3 weeks they started dropping off. I had another couple of warts taken off by a skin man many years later & I had one that I, totally accidently (as bad as it hurt I'd've never done it intentionally,) sliced off.
My sister was talking about going to a foot doctor to get a planters wart off her foot, like had been done when she was in middleschool. I told her about the shot. She went to the doctor & talked about the shot, got sent to a skin guy & got the shots, in her case. She said that, while the shot hurt when she got it, that was the ONLY time in the process it hurt, unlike the previous time.

I do nto have any moles on my face or hands but I have one at my back, it is not a problem as no one can see it when i am wearing something except when I am going to the beach and wear the swim suit,i cannot hide my mole anywhere at that time. But i do not feel that i need to remove the mole because I do not always go to the beach...

Lets see, I've had 4 off my back, 2 my arm, 2 my chest(just below my neck), one on the back of my neck, one on my face, that doesn't count the "blood moles" and skin tags I've had removed. That makes 10 removed & that barely scratchs the surface, so to speak, of my mole count! I still have 2 large ones on my face, over 10 on my arms, one on my stomach near my left hip, one on my left palm, a few small ones still on my chest, one on a toe & I have no idea how many on my back - for some reason I can't see back there! LOL
But the one I hated the most on my chin is gone & so is the one on the back of my neck that caught on tags so until a doctor tells me to have others removed, I'm happy.

Yes actually, I have a very big one on my face under my eye and I was just telling my son that I need to see about it. It doesn't look nice and needs to come off.

I always let the doctor tell me, but the one on my chin & the ones on the back of my neck I really wanted off (especially the big one that kept catching tags.) After I nearly pulled one off with a necklace the GP sent me to the skin guy to get the ones off my neck.

My doctor always looks at my moles to be sure they're not "odd". I do have one on my back that I need to have removed simply because it's annoying and always breaking open because of where it is at.

Flat is good. I have a slightly raised one on the top of my foot, right next to a toe - small, but there. Most of mine are slightly raised, but have been since I was a small child. I've had a few that after nagging I went to a skin screening that the dr looking at it briefly suggested having off.
I'm only in my 50's, my mom played golf for years and has had 3 skin cancers - the other 2 kinds than melanoma - taken off her face in her 70's. I rode horses for around 10 yrs in my teens mostly, she played golf for about 40....

I have quite a lot of moles, especially on my arms. I have one at the bottom of my index finger that I'm also fond of, it's faded now as well. I'm not particularly worried about any of my moles, not even the dark ones, as I was told only to visit the doctor if the moles started changing shape or started bleeding. So far that hasn't happened, plus I don't sunbathe so I figure I'm okay. I think I will ask my doctor about them though, just to be sure :)

When I moved into my house, the previous people left a chart on the inside of one of the doors about moles. I have kept it. They say that if they change in anyway, are irregular, 2 or more colors or change then to have them checked out. I went with my first visit because one mole had become irregular & 2 colors. He also didn't like the looks of a second mole & took that one off too.

No, I never did but I have some very dark freckles. When I hit my mid twenties, I noticed some of the freckels were becoming slightly raised. Having completely over done it in my youth with the sun, and never bothered with sunscreen, I thought, "Uh oh." I had a dermatologist look at them and he said it was nothing to worry about. It is something I sort of keep an eye on theough, in case there turns out to be any signifigant change.

I used to have a mole on the side of my nose that was almost the size of a pencil eraser. I was never a terribly vain kid, but oh, how I hated that mole! Anyways, when I was in 8th grade after years of begging, my parents let me go see a doctor about it. Handily enough he claimed (after waiting an hour and a half in the waiting room and another half hour in the exam room) that the mole was changing (after looking at it for two minutes, dunno how he could have known) so it might be dangerous. Good news was that meant the removal could be covered by (at the time my really good) health insurance. So it was removed, and the doc claimed the scar would disappear in 6 months but I'm 23 and it's still there. S'okay though, I'd rather have it than the mole!

I have some and I don't like them at all!! They aren't huge and ugly or anything, I just don't like them =) I have one on the back of my neck (so when I wear my hair up you can see it) and one on my shoulder so sometimes the seatbelt in my car rubs it, I want to go to the doctor and have them removed, I just don't know everything that is involved with having them removed. Is it a long process? Painful?

The actual removal only takes a few minutes. They give you a shot to deaden the area (the most painful part of the process) then cut it off & then cauterize it to stop the bleeding. The long part is the healing - and most people heal much faster than I do & I was totally better in a month. The only time you take off is the office visit. I tried to have the one taken off my chin when I was a teen, but it came back - the skin guy says that happens when you are still growing. He also said I'd probably have to have electrolisis to remove the hairs since they grow from deeper than the mole. (I did that about 7 yrs ago.) It did hurt some healing, but more like a scrape or burn, it wasn't that deep a wound.

I have some moles on my face. They are more like big freckles, though, that kind of rise up. They aren't real moles.

Yes, I have at least a couple. I have a small one on my face, that my aunt, Marie, calls a beauty mark. I also have one on my underarm, that I'm surprised hasn't been shaved off by now. I worry about it, everytime I shave there. lol There's probably more, but I can't think right now.
