Sardar Jokes - Are They An Insult For Sikhs

I was wondering who created the first "Sardar Joke" and why is it that Sardars (Sikhs) are joked about.
Is this an insult for the millions of Sikh people in this world.
What is your call on this.

i don't know who created it... but personally i think that humans laugh the most when they are laughing at others... and my belief is that sardars are the only ones who have enough humour and guts to take it in their stride and laugh at themselves without taking any offense... :)
