Spooky happenings...is my house haunted?

Earlier on my partner went out of the house for a while. I thought i heard him come back, i ehard the jangle of keys and the front door being opened downstairs. After a while i wondered why he hadn't come up or why i couldn't hear him moving around so i went down to take a look but of course he was not there! He enver had been all along.
This isn't the first time this has happened in this house. It's happened a few times now. My front door in next to my neighbours front door (they are terrace houses) so maybe i ehard a neighours keys jangled and their door being opened? Or maybe there's something more spooky going on and my house is haunted? It's about a 100 year old Victorian terrace so maybe it could be. What do you think? Has this ever happened to you?

Well, I wouldn't want to guess that it is anything spooky. Hope not! :P
Like you said, it could have been one of your neighbors. Or it could also be that the sound was imagined by you because you were anticipating the return of your partner. I have that experience sometimes too.

Its very possible that you just heard your neighbors keys and door since you are that close to it. But then again its very possible you have some ghosts wandering your house especially with how old it is.
I have had our stero litterally turn up and down while on CD's while we had friends over for a game night. It was really weird. At first I was the only one that was noticing it. Then others started to once I mentioned it. My friend Erica swears that she has something in her house, so I said that she brought her ghost over with her. She said maybe hehe

Actually, the neighbors front door being close to your front door is a very likely answer. I have had that happen to me in an apartment where I thought I heard my partner come home and I rushed to see him...but it turned out to be a neighbor. It is amazing how sounds travel sometimes and we do not even realize it.
But given that the house is also a 100 years old...it is also very possible for it to have a haunting history. I would say if other things start to happen when you pass it off as the neighbors...if it is haunted...the ghost or spirit will try to get your attention a different way until you can no longer explain it.

It could be other worldly doings. As long as nothing bad happens to you then it should be quite interesting and maybe at Halloween it could be a draw for your friends. I would not mind this and find you fortunate. Good luck with this.

I don't feel any evil presence or anything about the house, though somehow it feels like there is some kind of presence, more the house itself than something in it though, if that makes sense. When we bought it i kept getting the feeling that the house was trying to test us out to see how much we wanted to live here. That probably sounds really silly and stupid!
