Glasses wearers: What do you use to clean your glasses?

Do you clean your glasses, what do you use to clean them with? Do you have a proper glasses cleaning spray or wipes to clean them with, do you just use a glasses cleaning cloth, maybe a tissue if you have one handy or just use the hem of your top or something? My glasses seem to be forever getting smudged, dirt & dust on them, no matter what i do! I usually just use a tissue wsomething to clean them quickly by first using my breath, or the hem of my top if they're smudged and i have nothing on me to clean them, but sometimes they need a really good clean, maybe once a day or every couple of days, so i use proper glasses cleaning fluid. I've some some really nifty glasses cleaning whipes to keep in my handbag. I got 24 individually wrapped wipes in a box from the £1 shop, can you believe! I shall be using one every day to give my glasses a good ol' clean. They work out at 4-5p a wipe so are great value! What do you use?

I wash them everyday when I shower. I will just clean them with soap (ANY soap) and dry them with my shirt. Neat, quick and simple. ;-)

So you clean them under the showe with normal body soap? Doesn't that damage them? Mine have a coating on them which i think body soap would probably strip off the lenses.

I use warm soap and water and a very soft cloth to dry them. If I am out and about and they are soiled or need to be cleaned then I have been known to use my shirt tail (but only if it is a non-abrasive cloth). I know that I should buy and carry wipes that are made for eyeglasses but I just never have done that.

As much as I hate to admit it, I use my t-shirt or anything that's around that is clean. I used to have a nice eyeglass cleaning kit but it got lost when we moved. I have been putting off getting new glasses for a while now so chances are when I get a new pair, I will get a new cleaning kit.

When my glasses get really smudged and dirty I'll use a cleaning spray, but if they only have a couple of smudges/marks I'll either use the cleaning cloth or cleaning wipes, which ever is closest at the time.

I clean my glasses every time I wash my face. First, I rinse them under the faucet with water to wash away bits of dirt and grime. Then, I spray them with special glasses cleaner and use a soft paper towel to wipe them dry.

well i am a glasses wearer..... and a similar kinda problem was something I too used to face initially..... but at a later stage things turned up easyu.... I got this lens cleaner from my optician.... Now I don't have a wiper, so I use this fulid with a cloth piece (it is a very soft cloth -- I don't know the material's name exactly) though it is something like fur or cotton or may be mix....but its soft texture is like ideal for cleaning , you c!!! So no issues with the cleanliness of my glasses now!

I usually do just use the hem of the top or tshirt I'm wearing, but if my glasses are really dirty I give them a wee rinse under water and dry them carefully with kitchen paper. This gets them completely clean.

vapour from Pressure Cooker is a very nice dust cleanser for glasses be it on mirror or eyes. Just put any neat cloth around the pressure cookers lid when vapour rushes out. or else you can even hold the cloth above a boiling water container. when you vipe the glasses with this cloth you can see no dirt in the glass. try out and see.

Hope you can trust me, I only use tissues, and sometimes with my own t-shirt -lol- I never use cleaning spray... I don't know, I think that my glasses quite clean. So far my skin and my eyes is still ok. If I have time to go to optic, I will give my glasses to be cleaned by their fluid.

I just stick to good ol fashioned water and a tissue to try them off! My lenses are in pretty great condition and plus it doesn't cost anything to find a tap and get some tissue paper.

I usually buy disposable wipes from Boots or Waitrose. You can get them in the Opticians too, but they are usually more expensive from there. Mine get badly smudged too, and I need to properly clean them at least every other day.

I rarely clean my glasses with any cleaning spray or wipes. I only use a normal tissue. My glasses are already 5 years old. I think I'm going to buy a new one since it already in bad shape.

i wear spectacles, with plastic bifocal lenses. i am also a mechanic. plastic lenses get scratched and dirty in my trade.i use pledge furniture spray to clean small scratches from my lenses. also with plastic lenses when you wipe the lense with certain cloths, they set up a static charge and attract dust to them. try an antistatic cloth from your dryer. these little gems work great for cleaning cd's and dvd's as well
