The Indian philosophy of not requiring to speak correct English is disturbing because if one follows such sentiments one should not speak or write in it at all. but there exists one more philosophy were people keep on blabbering "bubbled-English" just to heighten up there image. Isn't these philosophies killing the English language?? Even here in mylot I've come across raped English. for instance "What I want to tell means.......", "I like the people tells their interests...", and so on. leave about the accent and the internet English. I dont know even if my english is good enough, but generally, almost, in all major parts of the country even engineering students cannot speak correct english. guys please discuss the above topic........

of course that would be an impractical philosophy since english is the universal language and you have to learn it to be able to communicate with people in all parts of the world. if one refuses to learn it well even if he/she have the means to do so, then he/she refuses to communicate fluently with other people from other countries. and it will backfire to him/her because he/she will not be understood and will not understand those that speak english correctly. and of course, it wouldn't be avoided that people would laugh at persons who speak crooked english. and what would it result to? the person laughed at will be offended and get angry and they'll have a misunderstanding. to love one's own native language is good and impressive. but to learn other language, especially english, would not mean that a person is being unloyal to his/her own. its just being practical. ^__^

well SCB I think that was a comment to the above response, anyhow I do agree for progress there should be unity and if there has to be a globally unified motive, there has to ba a globally unifying communication medium, that just may happen to be English!!
