we are letting far too much rain go down the drain instead of catching it before it does so. Every house should have an extra tank installed and that water should be used for the garden and washing your car instead of using our precious drinking water to do it. Plus the item that uses the most water in the household is the TOILET! So the rain water would be the ideal way to flush thatdown the sewage drains. Any more suggestions? have a nice day from Deeeky.

catchment water system............................ - catchment water system....................................
The whole world is wasting far too much water! You are alone as far as this problem goes.Have you ever heard of a "catchment water system?" Here in Hawaii alot of places have this system. It is a large container that catches rainwater...and on the top is a screen/filter.I have included a picture of one.I would say this could answer your question and problem.I hope this helps. And I am glad to see another person out there concerned about conserving on water, it is a precious resource to our whole world, everyone should be conserving and aware.

Yes, as we pay so much Community Tax, I think, in addition to compost bins, we should be able to purchase water butts at a subsidised price, so that the water from the drainpipes could be caught. In fact, this water could be used for washing the car and for watering our precious plants. That way, we would avoid a hosepipe ban, every year, almost all year. There's lots of spring water gushing away in this part of England as well; a prime example being beside the Shepherd and Dog Pub in Washington, West Sussex. The water comes down off the hills, creates a stream and is channeled through a stone lion's mouth, into yet another stream, which just flows away, underground. When is somebody going to come up with a water gathering device for sources like this? Your idea of an extra tank is excellent too, Deeeky. Brightest Blessings.

Yes that community tax could be reduced as well as we pay far too much.
