If you could time travel, would you go into the past or the future? Why?

I would like to travel to the past . There are unresolved issues I have with the past and would like to be able to find out the truth for myself about what really happened . If you could go back in time to anyplace that you wanted to go and not be seen it would be a way to find out if someone were telling you the truth about a very important matter .

I would first travel to the future. I would keep going into the future until I came to a time where all diseases were cured and you could decide exactly how long you wanted to live. Where you would always be healthy and money was no option. Where the world was at peace and there was no hate. No one went hungry and everyone had a roof over their head. They say the universe is endless so we would have to live on space stations all throughout the stratosphere. I would take the universe's most intelligent creatures and then travel back to the past and resolve the world crisises, so that we could reach this utopia before it gets to the state the world is in now.

You're an idealist like me. It's a hard life for us dreamers, eh?

I love questions like this because I really wished they were true and would come true. I would go back to 1998 and reverse a major decision which I bitterly regret and has caused me nothing but heartache, depression and entrapment ever since. By just saying NO I would have lead a fuller, promising and happier lifestyle. I would definitely change my past in a snap of the fingers.

intresting well i would definately like to go back in the past cos when i look back i see i have made a lot of mistakes and those mistakes are responsible for where i am in life and i know if i had not made those mistakes i would be much ahead and much more sucessful in life then what i am now and then i would also get my dad back with me who expired one year back so yes i am convinced i will go back in the past and spend some more time with my parents undo the bad work of which i was guilty off and make my parents more proud when they actually were or my mother is currently

if i could time travel i would do both go back to the past and correct all the mistakes i did in life and then go to the future so i can get out of here.

The mistakes you make are part of your education process in this life. If you changed them, how do you know they were actually corrected for the better? Could possibly some good things have come from your mistakes? Getting out of here in the future, well, yeah!!! But I hope you mean Heaven.

Am I the only one? I will stay exactly where I am. Although one can dream of alot of things you would change in the past and hope for a possible better future, I believe I am here where I am for a reason. Anything I want to change or accomplish must be in the NOW. To run from your NOW is a failure in itself. The challenge is to be the best you can be just where you are.

Both. I would want to see how things really were in the past but I would also like to see if people ever learned how to get along and stop worrying about stupid things like skin color and money.

I just now posted a similar discussion-and THEN I found yours. I hate when that happens, and I'm sorry. It was inadvertant. I really believe time travel can happen. (obviously I have a rich fantasy life)But like most of our decisions-it would't be easy to agree to do. For instance you know how when people say if I had - a certain amount of money I would buy this, or that- and they really believe it. Meanwhile they do get that money over and over and never buy the thing they were sure they would. To go back into our own past is as complicated as being fully in the present. and yet, I want to so much. I keep thinking I have to be very clear about this to myself, what point could I go back and change things or myself that wouldn't result in losing what is so precious to me now.

Good question! Do I have to choose? I think I would go into the past. There are so many historical figures and events I would love to experience. If I went into the future, then had to come back to the present, I would probably not be able to give proper attention to the present. I'd either be comparing or anticipating.

I would go into the past, specifically to meet Jesus and his Disciples. That would be cool. Future no, cause there is nothing worth looking at except for the fulfillment of Prophecy.

So far it is running about 90% past, 10% future. Verrry interrresting!

I would go back and watch who made the pyramids and how. I would just observe, because I wouldn't want to cause any screw up in history that may change things to be worse...ha ha ha..and for your fun here is my boyfriend answer for you: " i would go back to the trojan wars and see if thereis any truth to the heroes like hector, they could be based on real people, i would also like to meet with some of the ancient philosophers like socrates or platon and tell them about all the scientific discoveries we've made and see if that changes their way of thinking, or ride a t-rex too .."lol! augusta

I would stay right here... Number 1, most people would go back in time to change mistakes...well i would stay because i have learned from my mistakes... Number 2, i would stay from the future because i dont want to know whats going to happen... its all a part of life to await what will happen to us.

Yes - I agree, sorry didn't read all comments before I posted. Looks like we are the only two who choose the present

I would go into the past, following my families time line. That way I could either prove or disprove that the knights that are in my family tree were part of the Knight Templars. The country is right and so is the time period. So I have strong feelings that I am proof that some did escaped.

I would go to the future. Living in the past never does anyone any good.
