I usually get around 5 hours of sleep, at different times depending on what I am doing. Sometimes I work though the night on a writing project, and sleep a bit in the morning. I do that so I am not interrupted by people.

I need more than 8 hours every night. I do sleep much better since I had a sleep study done and now wear a cpap [constant positive air pressure] I know, it sounds awful but it is wonderful. I was fitted with a mask, and have a bedside machine that blows air through a tube into the mask, I can also have humidity added to the air.
May I also suggest that you get a good medical check up. Chronic health problems are one of the leading causes of disruptive sleep patterns. Good luck on finding some answers.
