Has anyone bought these for their kid or had them as a child? My son saw the commercial and really wants a pair. I am not sure if I should get them for him because they don't look safe.

My son wanted them too. My mother in law was going to get them for him, but for some reason she didn't. I've never heard of anyone being hurt because of them.

Just seems like anything a kid can ounce up and down on (like a pogo stick) has the capability to leading to borken bones more easily than roller skates or a bike would.

I had moon boots as a kid and they were very warm unless they've changed - haven't heard of them for years. If you don't think they are safe then have a good look without him there and then decide.

I figure these things would be like giving a pogo stick to a kid - not a good idea.

I don't particularly care for those either. A seven year old doesn't seem responsbile enough to know when to use the skates and not to use the skates. Plus they are expensive.
