Can a Village Raise the Child?

We hear that it takes a whole village to raise a child. What I have seen happen after this philosophy has been promoted is some parents feel that they are losing control over their children. These are good parents who were involved but have been told by Village (Community Social Services) don't worry, just go home and we will take care of it. Schools are providing Breakfast and Lunch to the children. They are babysitting them after school and seeing that their homework is done. They have sports programs for our children that a few parents and some community members run. They receive their religious instruction from what ever priest or minister has the most popular youth group. They learn their social values from all of these people. Is this what it means to have the the whole village raise a child to have others teach the children the values to teach them the social values instead of the parents. How do we know what values are being taught?

No, a village can not raise a child, at least not under our social structure.
In order for a village to raise a child, you have to weaken or destroy the family unit.
This is done by setting laws as to what discipline is to be used, and that school has more authority than the family does as far as what is taught and how.
This is also done by setting up preschool classes in order to get the child ready for the routine and regimen of school.
Kindergarten is very stressful, and the children must ease into that by attending preschool for a year or so in order not to be unduly stressed by the big K.
Children must realize that the family won't always be there for them. After all parents get old and die.
They must be prepared for that, and you must also realize that the community will always be there for you.
Your community will help you through the concepts and new ideas that your family never had the chance to learn.
Children must come to realize that the community has their best interests at heart. That everything the community does is for their good.
The community will provide health care, job placement, and testing to see if you qualify for college.
If you become ill, or can't work for some reason, your community will provide for you.
We will watch after you and advise you of people who might cause your reputation to suffer because they don't fit in.
You wouldn't want to be demoted or looked down on because you chose bad friends would you. We will guide you.
We have a few new rules, read them and sign at the bottom.
Failure to abide by these rules could cost you your position, result in demotion, or we may have to send you to a series of training seminars.
Obedience is freedom...

This is the way freedom will be lost in America.
Not overnight or all at once, but gradually over a period of time.
Look at the general attitudes today on various issues from smoking to religion, prayer in schools an all of the other things.
What better way to enslave a nation than through the children?
I have read and remember the books "1984" and "Brave New World".
Those books may have been fiction when they were written, but the fiction is slowly and surely becoming reality.
I have also read "Mein Kamfp"(sp?) and "The Communist Manefesto", and I see some very chilling parallels between the ideas in those books and some of the ideas we hear today.
Too many people are not paying attention to the things they need to, and if current trends are left unchecked, it is only a matter of time before we lose everything.

Some times it seems like Congress and the Liberals want ot run the government like the Communist system with the Ruling Class- The Poulit Bureau - elects the presient and sets the policy and makes all the decision. They, the liberals in congress, seeem to want more power and for the president to have less and less authority. This is even true with a democratic in The White House.
Like you say it will be a slow process if we don't stop them.
