I have always allowed my children to watch tv. I would monitor the programmes which they watch and I would switch off the tv if I thought they were watching something that was unsuitable for them. I never allowed them to watch it until all their schoolwork and studying was completed.

children should be allowed to watch television only for some period according to me,they should be checked out regularly in intervals that whether they aren't addicted to any particular channel or serials, this way they can be controlled in watching tv and they will be do better in Studies also.

Yes, children should be allowed to watch TV. But for children first and foremost is their study. They can watch TV in their non-study or leisure hours. This promotes some type of psychological tonic for their thinking process in broad sense. This in turn also helps to improve their IQ that is very vital for their studies. I think spending about 1 to 2 hours in watching TV for children with varieties of programs including news and children's special programs is a good habit. During exam times one may reduce this time also. Thanks.

not allowing does not make any sense its how the world is running on but at the same time they should be made aware of other things they should do in their life, they should be thaught to be creative and give wonderful things for life on humanity i sound too much theoritical..........dont i ? but i belive that every person should take out at least 5 minutes of their 24 hours for the shake of goodwill of humanity so that there can be peace in the world childern are shaped in their childwood so what we want to cast from them we should move on that dirn its not about restriction but its about teaching them the good things

I think that children should be given their leisure time alongwith their studies. And if that leisure tie includes watching TV then it is no problem in it. But, if the child only watches TV and doesn't sudy at all or doesn't go for out door activities at all then it is time tro regulate the time that he watches his TV.
