I have a kitten here who was 3 months old on March 21st:) Now her mother is also my cat:)
Basically, i just wanna know how long kittens usually suckle for when they're left with their mother rather than being given away?
I cant work out why this kitten is still suckling, my cat has no milk left, her milk glands have gone down completely yet this kitten tries to suckle every day & her mother lets her do it.
This kitten gets 2-3 feeds a day from me (sometimes more if she looks like wanting to suckle) why is she still doing it? How much longer will this go on? Why is my cat allowing her to do it still?

i guess as long as the mother cat allows them to milk, they will. i've known of siamese cats who still drank from their surrogate mother when the surrogate mother cat gave birth to new kittens and these siamese cats were already a year old lolz. just let them milk on their mama cat for as long as they can.

That's just my point though, there is NO milk, there hasn't been for at least a month or month & a half now. There's no point in letter the kitten suckle if there's no reason to be doing it:)
I just wanna know if she'll stop suckling for no reason some time soon!

I was hoping this would happen but for some reason i don't think it'll happen any time soon - since there ended up being only the 1 kitten, she's very tolerant with it - she puts up with a LOT!

I am looking for a kitten before this summer. I don't have one right now and feel like there is room for one. I think I will go around petshops this week.
