Last night I had to work from 7 pm to 7 am. I slept yesterday afternoon but when I got up I was so tired.
Out of desperation, when I stopped at the convenience store on the way to work, I picked up one of those little packets of herbal energy boosters.
I took one when I got to work, and I was BUZZED!
I really didn't like the way it made me feel. I was not only wide awake, but shaky and yucky feeling.
Has anybody ever tried these things? And if you have what was your reaction?
I don't like taking stuff, I have a lot of adverse affects from different medications, but I figured this would be ok since it was all herbal. But I am wondering if they are safe?

You're talking about energy drinks. I do take these when I work overnight and need to be awake the next day. In fact, I almost tried different brands in the market. Most energy drinks have Taurine, Inositol, and Vitamin B complex and the thing that give you the kick, Caffeine. Others include ginseng and royal jelly. If you don't overdo it, I guess it is safe.
From my experience, the feeling of alertness and the extra energy that you get is stronger for first time drinkers. Once you get used to it, the effect is not as good as the first one. Your system gets immune to it and eventually the buzzing effect loses its strength. I don't know why and I want to find out soon. And also if you experienced this shaky feeling, better stop it. Try other brands there must be something in it that didn't go well with your system.

This wasn't a drink, these were pills. I've tried a couple of drinks and they didn't do anything for me. A friend even gave me a couple of energy vitamins to try and they only had caffiene as an additive so they did nothing for me.
I agree, I didn't like that shaky feeling, I am not taking them again.

i use to take mini thins an they did the same thing to me.so i quit takeing them.they have to much caffine in the.so its better to drink coffee . you can get as much caffine as you want that way.without getting jitters an a upset stomach.the energy pills arent good for you.they can make your heart rate go up an cause you to have a heart attack or stroke. so eat fruit.they are good for energy.

These didn't have any caffiene in them at all, I checked what was in them before I bought them becuase there are some things I can't take, like Ginko Biloba. There was ginseng and a bunch of other herbs in it but no caffiene. Besides, I am one of those people who can drink a pot of coffee and go straight to sleep, caffiene doesn't affect me at all.
Thanks for your response. I doubt if I will take them again though.
