I've always found it to be fun to chose baby names. It's quite a game isn't it? Well, my oldest is half Puerto Rican, so after my 2best friends turned down the idea of some names, I decided to give her a spanish name. I chose Maritza which is a name of a girl i went to school with in Tampa, but also is my child's paternal grandmother. However her middle name is Aki which means autumn in Japanese, and aqui in spanish means here, it's strange. But I wanted something different. Oh probably curious about the names I wanted to name her at first huh? Nova Aki, was my choice. But Maritza definitely fits her. My 2nd was named after My husbands older sister(Deanna) with lupus who had a son but always wanted a girl, and I only have one sibling so we used his name (Patrick) as her middle. We spelled The first name a little different DeAnna, just to distinquish the 2 apart, and not a fan of the name Patricia, so we went with Patrice. And therefore she is DeAnna Patrice. Child 3 named after My 2best friends (1 is actually a cousin) and my middle names. And oddly enough the names are placed in our age order oldest to youngest. So child 3 is Regina Yvonne Dante. Child 4 named after her dad(michael) and my grandmother's middle name(grace), she was due and born 10 days before my grandmothers birthday, and figured by now I wasnt getting my boy to use my dads middle name as the childs middle name (ellis), so figured I just put an "e" on the end. So child 3 is McCayla Grace Ellise. Child 5.. Oh what do u know, I finally get my boy, well now Ellis has been used for Ellise. And Always knew my first son would be named Jacob, of course I thought it would be Jacob Ellis after my Dad Jack Ellis, but it didn't happen. But He was born in July like my day. And I wanted a biblical name (many males in my family have biblical names). So, I figured Thaddeus so I could call him Tad, cuz husband name was Todd, thought it'd be cute to have a Tad and a Todd. Instead I got 2 Todds. Named after his dad and born on his bday Jacob Todd was born. Then I lost one, her name is Sixx Thai. Don't know where the Thai came from but Sixx is obvious. Now here's the 7th and final child. She is due in May. She is being named Arizona Jenevieve. Arizona because that is where DeAnna lives with her dad (first husband) so she'll always be close in some way, and Jenevieve is after a client I use to take care of who passed away and her family is still in touch with me. So, there you have it, my long drawn out story of how I named my children. Oh I could talk forever abot naming babies. Infact My oldest daughter is trying to get a baby name book published. She said it's for teen moms or ghetto moms or something like that.

well lets see you all will think that I am crazy but here is why I named my kids. I love soap operas and as for my daughter her name is Cassie Marie and she was named after Cassie Calasion off of One Life To Live and I even wrote a letter to CBS to find out what if any would Cassie on the show middle name would be and they sent me a letter back saying Marie, so that is how I got her middle name and as for my son he is named after his dad in a way his name is David Lynn but he is not a Jr. he is a secondand he has this (II) at the end of his name because I was not going to let his dad become a Sr. but I also want a name that I could call him D.L. that would stand for D.L. Brock off of General Hospital, and as for my youngest son his name is Shane Ryan and shane is from the Bible and Ryan is for Ryans Hope so that way all my kids has some part of my favorite soaps in their names, crazy huh! but cool.

When i got pregnant, me & my husband decided what will be the name of our baby "soon". Then my husband says that he want to use the letters "Y, X and Z". Then i told him that i want the name "Juan". It comes out Yuhan to use the letter Y. To use letter X we decided to do it "Xyndhel". Because my cousin's name was Dhel & she was my true friend. When my baby comes out his name was YUHAN XYNDHEL.

We have an extremely common last name. So to start with we wanted a name you almost never hear anymore. We both love strong, old fashioned names. When we stumbled across the one we chose we both loved it instantly. Then we gave him his daddy's middle name. Most people assume that it is a family name but neither one of us have the name in our family for several generations back. Sorry, I would rather keep my son's name off the web. But good discussion starter. I like your daughters middle name Chi.

Well it depends upon person to person....Most of the parents keep there children names such as by the name of a heroic character,by the name of a noble person,by the name of a popular star.....whereas some parents keep names as their pals or the people who they are influenced with....

I picked my sons first name after my great uncle that was the president of a college in houghton new york, Steven and i love westerns and things as that and western history so his middle name is Cody after buffalo bill cody. I love that name. My husband picked the name Xain for our second son because of an old wrestler that he used to like and the name alexander for a middle name because he couldnt use steven which was his first choice

My Mom and Dad named my eldest sister based on their own names. My Mom's name is Basilisa and my Dad is Efren, my sister was named Renilisa, but when my elder brother and then me arrived we were named after my dad's male friends. Is it not sweet? Lol

I adore reading Shakespeare. I named my oldest daughter Miranda because Shakespeare created the name in the play The Tempest. I named my son Clint because I thought it sounded very masculine.

picking a name is so hard. This will be our second daughter and picking the first one was so hard. This child has to grow up with this name for the rest of their lives so you don't want to pick anything too crazy. We went with some old fashion names. Katie Marie- Marie was the name of my great grandmother for the second one we are going for Sara Ann but I'm not to crazy about it. What do you think?

My daughter is called Natasha after one of the central characters in the book "War and Peace". I read it in the latter stages of my pregnancy and, although I had other names planned for a girl, when she was born she just looked like a Natasha! Her middle name is Eve because I just like the name and I wanted a nice short middle name. My daughter on the other hand knew exactly what she was going to call her daughter before she was born last year. Her names are Anya Lauren Olivia - Anya because she just liked the name, Lauren sort of after me (my name is Lorraine) and Olivia after her elderly uncle whose name is Oliver.

I and my husband choose the name of a Hindu God ( Arjun)a famous energetic soldier. We both wants him to be like Arjun, so gave him the name Arjun. My father gave me the name of the goddess and was given my name by a priest. You are great that you gave your children , a name of your friends. Its really good.

I m frm the southern patrs of India, here the children r often named after the gods and godesses or after the the grandfathers or grandmothers.Well since i was named after a godess, and because i found it very disturbing when people wrongly pronounced my name i had decided that i wouldnt name my children after any god or godess. Then it was the grandparents name that had to choosed frm,but here too since we had planned for only one child we ruled that out too.And we choose a completely different name for my son.But then since only one child wasnt enough i had a girl too and as her brother had a unique name we chose a unique name for her too.
