If you know about CPUs you know that AMD is fast. AMD tells you that it is running at this speed but it is actually running way faster then the speed they tell you. AMD was doing so much better then Intel but now that the dole core stuff came out intel is just a little bit competition to AMD. Intel knows AMD is going to take them over one day.

well from my experience ...i would want AMD as it seems to be better for heavy duty work like playing games and all . the speeds are the same butthe performance which i like better is of the MD processor .

Earlier I had Intel then I bought AMD and I didn't find any difference...May be AMD is a little better in Graphics work...But if I am given a chance now I would consider the price now more then the brand because both are almost similar

Which CPU to buy should not be done on company basis but should be done on product basis, your budget etc. For example, if you want medium budget dual core PC than you have two options Intel Pentium D and AMD X2 Here AMD X2 is far better than Pentium D and suprisingly cheaper than Pentium D. But if you want a higher End Dual Core than Core 2 Duo is better than AMD X2. So first the processor range should be decided according your use and budget and then the best processor from the options should be selected. Leave apart the company bias.

i prefer AMD since i am using one.I use AMD because -comparatively cheap -high performance -high stabilty -greater support for gaming i recommned AMD FX 64 bit computing. It has many advantage over intel pentium 4 processors.but i heard that intel pentium duo core2 is much better than other precedures and a like performance with AMD 64.so i f you are going to buy a new computer either you go for AMD FX 64 or Pentium 4 Duo core 2.core 2 duo is better than its earlier versions!

AMD X2 3600 of course, it's really powerfull and very cheap.. it's about US$70, better then Pentium 4, pentium D.. but it 1 step behind core2duo, core2duo is too expensive....!!!!
