Hey friends sorry for starting this kind of post but i am finding something really strange .i have tried starting my discussion in different categories and most of them have been new, unique and interesting and not started before(at least to the best of my belief) but the no of responses to them was really disappointing. And this is not only the case with me but some other gud posts.Where as on the other hand i find that some posts which are actually duplicate posts (started 2 or 3 times already) and that too within 3 days like HOW MANY TIMES U BRUSH UR TEETH getting replies in excess of 100.(SORRY PEOPLE WHO STARTED THESE POSTS,please dont mind ).I just wanna know that does the posts i start are not going to work or i am commiting some mistakes like starting them in wrong category etc .Please feel free to point my mistakes.SO all experiencd member plz help I hope this discussion benifits all new comer like me

ya i can understand ur feelings.. it happens because sometimes ppl look for those discussions which are easy to talk about.. so mostly the discussions having open ended questions will ever get much response.. though i dont say u just keep on poring on this website with topics like ur favourite hereo, politican, do u brush daily n blah blah.. well i advise u start those discussions which almost everybody has something to talk about n i hope u will never be disappointted again..

If you make a specific topic such as Scientists who have visited Mars you will not get any response because your target is limited. I would suggest making some friends and patronizing their discussions. I have about 10 people who reply to my discussions. Some reply to all of them. If you patronize my discussions I will return the favor. I would rather someone get the money who is helping me. I always look in discussions my friends started before I stray to one such as this discussion.

I was giving an example about the scientists. =) Most people are lazy. You can tell by their response. I think it is funny that people who are 800 have not earned $10 yet and wonder why their one word responses are not doing the trick. I did it in about 300 and I should have more than $20 when earnings are updated today.

I have found that there is really no set way to get a lot of responses to your discussions. I have tried a bunch of different things and it doesn't seem to make any difference. I'll post what I think is a good discussion ang get maybe 8 responses and then I'll post one that I don't think anyone will be interested in and I get 50....no rhyme or reason, just keep posting quality discussions and hope for the best...LOL

I have noticed many good discussions with few or none replies just because they are either complicated or are too expressive and long. Most lots here only respond to very 'catchy and common' posts so they can earn cent after cent in a rapid time they spend here. But i don't really prefer to post responses on one liner discussions like 'Pizza or Cake','Coke or Coffee',etc. (pliz read the discussion i'd started)http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/901202.aspx You ain't making any mistakes here but you ain't hitting the target yet.Keep on posting lot of simple and common topics to get more hits. All the best.

I don't ever go to the general categories. I usually just go to the default one that includes everything being discussed. If you want certain information about say, photography, I would pose the question there and just keep checking back. Unique sub forums will just not have as many visitors. Also, if you are making the discussions too complex and require a lot of thinking, you will not have much luck. I would not worry if you get 100 responses or 4....I have come to realize that it pays little either way. The way to make money is to respond to posts. Remember, many people on here are not great with the English language and will look for easy discussions to understand and answer........Like "how often do you brush your teeth?" thats exactly why it has so many hits. People get credit for the response and don't have to think much.

I checked out your discussions. I can't reply to most because they don't apply to me. I have never seen the show "Lost" nor do I play video games. Unfortunately if you want a lot of responses you need to ask for recipes or something that is in the media. There is a lot of people on mylot from your country. How about talking about local events.

Hey welcome to mtlot frnd.So since u r new here u r bound to hav problems in the start.I m also like u trying to get a hold here. And i too had this same question when i started here,u must know that u can make frnds here too.And the reason silly posts r getting responses in huge numbers is that that person has a lot of frnds here.People here mostly respond to their frnds posts first and then they look for others. So wat i m doing is that,i simply respond to as many posts that i can,and start a discussion only once in a while. There is much to see and know that we new comers still hav to do.Best of luck to u!!

I have found the same thing happening to me. I have started discussions that I really put a lot of time and effort and thought into, and there will be no response at all, or just one or two. It is quite discouraging and disapointing. And then you see a one question discussion and it has like 100 comments. I feel like I am doing something wrong.

Well, what did you post? Maybe i can respond. And indeed i have noticed that some of my discussions, which i find elating, have not taken off as well as other topics that seem somewhat, how to put this... ignorant?
