California is cheaper, but I think you get more bang for your buck in Florida (4 theme parks in FL, just 2 in CA.) You might want to check out disboards.com, there is a TON of info there! You will learn so much!

If you do decide to go to Disney World Resort in Florida there are a lot of hotels in the Orlando area that are fairly reasonable and have shuttle service to the parks. Rates as low as $39 per night can be found at times. As far as the park tickets go, they are not cheap and neither is the food in the parks. Some people take a break in the middle of the day and go back to the hotel to eat.

Although I found Orlando to have more to offer overall, if you are looking at just DISNEY, then the cheaper is California. My husband and I went there for two weeks for the price we could have went to Orlando for less than one week. There is a hopper pass between Disney and California Adventure which is nice too. We found the best deal on Priceline and I highly advise at least starting there. We then bought our park passes on the disney website. We had a 4 star hotel, air fare, 5 days in the parks, and transportation for about $1,000....the hotel was booked for 2 weeks...that is not a bad deal ...Either way, have a great time and take lots of pictures !
