Am I a good auntie? :(

I am an aunt to a lot of beautiful young sweet guys and girls. Especially, most of my love goes to my sister's 3 children, who are so sweet and caring, never made fun of me for my handicaps and are always helping around. They don't come only for money, they truly love us (me, and my mother and my other un-married sister; we live together in the same house). Especially, I love my older niece of the 3, as she's also staying 1 day more to assist my mother who is sick.
Now someone thinks I'm bad because I make preferences between my nieces and nephews and most of all because I love my sister's children more than the others. What do you think?
My sister's children are like my children to me, and her older daughter is also a best friend to me; that's also why I love her so much.

My daughters fight about that as well. one always says that i prefer the other's children. My oldest daugher actually got mad at me after my younger one had a baby girl because she said I would give preferential treatment to the granddaughter instead of her sons. Happily she is over it now, because she realizes that it is her sons who don't want to visit Nanny all the time any more because they are older and would rather spend the weekend with their friends.

thanks for sharing this. it's really sad to hear that from daughters, sisters and nieces/nephews :( but in my case you see, I only have 1 married sister with children, so her children are the closest nephew & nieces I have. I hope the others will be over this someday. makes me feel bad :(

You cannot help how you feel, and it really is not anyone else's place to judge you for how you feel either. Sometimes it is hard not to have preferences for one reason or another. You are bound to feel closer to some people than others, no matter whether they are your nieces and nephews or not. That does not make you wrong. It only makes you human.
