Are you good at keeping on budget?

I know a lot of people who don't even HAVE a budget and not because they are rich but because they simply cannot curb their spending and how they throw around their money. Do you have a budget? Do you stick to it or do you find you're often behind on things because you couldn't keep to the budget? I have to admit I've gotten better with age and now am very good at paying all the bills first THEN having spending money.

I don't have a written budget, but may have to do this soon. My new job is minimum wage and while sitting in the parking lot before the interview, I did a quick run down of my bills. Holy cow. How will I pay these?

That's the scariest part of a budget, when you realize the difference between how much you NEED and how much you make.

I've actually paid extreme attention to my budget since ever. I don't use to count money I spend, what I do is rather filtering carefully my purcase choices. As far as I'm aware of what I really care to spend for...The budget is adjusting itself without many efforts. There were time I was joining friendso ut in the evenings, without ever drinking anything, because I thought that it would have been a waste for my budget. But on the other hand I was spending relevant money on travelling. The ability of spending for something that brings me a lot of good instead of loosing money here and there is the point of having a budget for me. The second point is about being able to keep having some money instead of finding myself on the edge.I find this kind of personal insurance very important

Well I don't really have enough money to be on a budget. Sad I know. Once I pay the bills and basics there isn't anything extra. Now when I do get extra I plan out how to spend it and make it go as far as I can. Yes I love to blow money, I can do it easily believe me so I try to avoid credit cards and checking accounts. If I can't pay cash for it I don't get it.

You know, my dad taught me a very vaulable lesson. He said that when you get your paycheck who's the first person you should pay? My answer was "the house". He shook his head no. Said "YOU have worked all week. If you don't take even $10 or $20 out and allow yourself to enjoy something you will eventually feel as though you DESERVE to just splurge. THAT attitude will create a situation where you go out, overspend and create debt that will continue. If you take just a few dollars per paycheck and make sure you feel as thought you worked for a reason you will be able to save up for something from that little bit or enjoy it at the moment but you won't feel deprived". It makes perfect sense too.

I have to, if not I'm in trouble. The bills get paid first and the entire bill too. I have a cousin who thinks if he makes a partial payment then he has extra money for himself but he doesn't understnad he is not only getting another bill next month but he will also have a balance from last month. So how is that saving? Can't seem to make him understand this. Oh well, that's life, paying bills.

I'm awful with money, i admit it! I am getting better though, now that we have a daughter, i have to be more careful with money these days. I never used to be able to stick to a budget but do much better now, the bills always get paid & that's all that matters - then the left over cash can be spent on things she needs! I am also getting my 2007 Xmas underway with the after summer sales - they make life a LOT easier!

I used to splurge all my earnings. Nowadays, in order to get ahead financially, I keep records of what I spent on. Actually, just to sure, I didn't go on a budget ! lol but on recording what I did spend on everyday, the spendings per month came down automatically. My personal unnecessary expenses came down whenever i saw the % go up to much. lol Its like natural instinct. For people who dun like budgets, just start by doing what i do and you can see the amazing effect.

Believe me, it's really hard to budget your money. I sometimes decide what to buy for our needs in our home and I really find it hard to budget our money. I'm not good at making decisions in budgeting but I'm sure learning from it.

I find it hard to stick on a budget although I'm good when it comes to handling money matters because I'm not a materialistic person. When I feel sad and unhappy and frustrated, My budget for the month is ruined. If only I'm living a good life, living a life without restrictions, then I could be rich. I can't help but think money is the only getaway to forget about problems in life. If only I am happy with my life, I can live without money.

Well with the rising food and vegetable prices, and rising inflation and everything getting costlier and with so many bills to pay with fixed source of income it is important to first pay off ones bills and buy what's important. Moreover i like to lead a simple life so it comes naturally to me. Besides i try to save for future too so one has to have a budget. Good luck. :)

Yes. I always like to keep myself in budget. I earn a good salary every month. I don't go to parties, neither I smoke or drink so my major spend is clothes, food and paying my bills. So I always make sure that I am in my budget limit.

I think I am very good at living on a budget. I have really got used to doing it now, and I look at my bank account regularly to make sure that I@m not overspending. I never buy expensive purchases without being really sure that I can afford them. I hate being in debts, especailly because I have no job so know it would take me ages to pay it off. So I am careful with money and make sure that I can afford things before I buy them.

I've heard some people saying that we should always have a daily budget or at least weekly budget so we'll not overspend. The hardest part is sticking to the budget and avoiding impulsive buying. I tend to be like this at times. But now I'm learning to ask myself first if I really need those things that I intend to buy. I can proudly say that I am much better now when it comes to budget than how I used to be.
