I have Alltel. They do not cost me like previous ones did. I have three phones, one for myself, one for my old man and one for my nephew. I am not sure where you live, but Alltel goes all over the United States. They have different pay plans, the best is National Freedom. I have lousy credit and it did not cost anything for a deposit. Now Nextel wanted me to put $500 per phone for deposit. You can find decent cell phones and plans online, it will depend on what kind you want, like flip phone, monthly pay plan or minute phones, where you buy say 300 minutes for a certain $ amount.

Goodness me I was about to fall on the floor as I was reading this. I sure wouldn't want to pay 500.00 or more for it. I think pay by the minutes is good but it depends on how much of the time you use it. I got my daughter one that goes by the minute pay cards or whatever you call it.

If you want a cell that badly, try one ofthose pay as you go planswhere you pay forthe phone and them buy cards with a specified amount of time allotted to them, I wouldn'tgo with any company that thinksthey can charge me $500 just to sign up with them so they can gouge me. Seriously, the pay as you go makes much more sense.
