Six Days?

The Bible says that God created the universe in six days, but debates still happening today questions if God created the world in six 24-hour days. Some says that a Lord's "day" is actually millions or so of years. A joke about someone asking for money says that a Lord's "second" is equal to a million years. So if I will ask you, how many hours did God create the world? Did God create the world in just 144 hours or an n-llion?

Good question...but not one that we will ever know the answer to until we are graced with his actual presence above. But, I believe it could be either way. Yes, what he considered a "day" then - could be different then what we humans consider a "day" now. But on the other hand....he's God so it is very possible that he could have done it all in 7 - 24hour periods....I mean, he is God...he can do what he wants and I bet he can do it fast. :-)

That's right, with God, nothing is impossible. You know what, for me, I believe God made the universe in six 24-hour days, because He is Almighty!!!!!

Remember that during that time, creation was still an ongoing process. Therefore the days in there is not the day we now have. There was no such thing as 24 hour thing to a day yet. That type of measuring time is still to come after the completion of creation.
As you can see, a day is measured by accomplishment. The Lord endeavoured at first to create the day and the night and that was done on the first day. How long was it accomplished if it were measured in our time no one knows.
Then next was the separation of the sky and the waters beneath it. Again, only the Lord knows how long it took if it were measured in man's time but, for the Lord it was the second day of creation. For this is an accomplishment of one count.
I hope you have understood that now. I need not go until the sixth day. Each one whole endeavour to accomplish is done in a day. The Lord's day and not our day. The Lord's measure is not our measure. Let us not explore the thinking of the Lord God using the kind of thinking we have. There is no comparison at all.

The sun came up this morning and went down again this evening, one day has gone by. When God created the earth according to Genises 1, it is written that there was evening and there was morning, the first day, etc. I believe that she sun took as long to come up and go down then as it does now.
Anyway, what do you think is the easies story to tell a kid and have him believe it. If I tell a kid the six day story, he will understand. If I start with one day is a thousand days and all the rest, he will get confused. Jesus said we must believe like children. That is the easiest anyway. We have much more complicated stuff to keep us busy. Enjoy serving God.
