Passion of the Christ

I've been invited to a lot of film showings during the Holy Week. It seems that the unanimous choice for movies to show during this week is Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ. What can you say about this film? Is it factual as it claims to be? Will you watch this during the Holy Week?

I can't comment on whether it remains true to the Bible, I can only talk about the film itself, and it was a good movie, but yet a graphically violent one. Me and my mother watched it the first time it was released; from an artistic point of view I found it well deserved of respect, but it's still visually violent.

It's brutal, but it's still romanticized. As far as I know, Jesus went through worse.
