Why restrict design to the boudaries set by an insistent minority when you can take what you want and leave out what you don't? Yet there is an ebb and flow to that is collectively considered current design, and it is influenced by a variety of factors -- the general level of optimism, new cultural discoveries, renewed appreciation of part eras, and even by whom we perceive as the enw heroes of our times. Individuality is cherish today more than ever, but it is tempered by the acceptance that the world changes for deep, important reasons. Some clear trends have emerged and people have forseen them. 1. NATURE KNOWS BEST. Colors will mimic the trnaquility of Nature, still the most influential designers in the world! Earthly hues will be prevalent, undersoring the eye-appeal of varying shades of brown, green and blue. As is always the case, furniture will follow suit,a nd sometimes even lead the way. 2. GO ETHNIC. Globalization earns most o the credit for this wonderful codinuing trend. never before have furniture and accessories from different countries been as readily accessible to both retailers and consumers. 3. FLAIR WITH INDIGENOUS MATERIALS. Part and parcel of going ethnic is the necessity of incorporating indigenous materials into present-day design. hardwoods, bamboo, reeds and textiles are just a few examples in the bewildering range of unconventional materials used by designers. The possibilities are endless, but they wil remian jsut that -- mere possibilities -- unless the nece4ssary research and development is employed to fashion them into functioning adjuncts to designers masterpieces. Also, skillful detailling, scrollwork, and hand-weaving are essential to pulling off this statement. Can you add more to the following emerging trends I have mentioned?
