I am just wondering if you prefer natural remedies or commercial products for skincare. I use both indeed. For my daily routine, I use commercial products and when I am not working and have more time, I enjoy mixing my own things and be all creative about it. What about you?

hmm... well, a while back, in the summer of last year, my skin became really bad, and I was using good expensive products for my face, and then I realized that for my skin, it was best to go back to basics. When me and my sisters were in school, we didn't have enough money to buy all these nice expensive beauty products so we would make these home made products for skin care, that we would see in magazines, like scrubs and masks, and stuff. And I had good skin then. So, lately I've gone back to that, I use a home made scrub to wash my face at least once a day, if I go out then I use the same to wash my make up off too. It's about three parts oats, to one part rice. Makes a really nice mild scrub, that exfoliates my skin, and leaves it fresh. I went back to using the same cream for my skin as I did in school too. It's hard to make a good home made moisturizer. But now my skin has become better. Much better, in fact I can say it's almost a full recovery. I'm actually in favor of going as natural as you possibly can. Because the fact is that even if these natural products are not useful, at least they're not harmful either, and will have no side effects either.

That's very true! I don't have time to mix the ingredients most of the days because I am always tired. But whenever I have time during the weekend, I would do so and it's really effective! My mom loves mixing stuff herself and she has great skin, of course, sometimes I ask her to mix for me for my convenience! It's cheap and fun indeed.

Yeah, it's cheap and fun too, it's so much fun if you try something really gross too. Me and my sisters had lots of fun with those experiments. Like yogurt mask on the face, which makes the skin really smooth, or my favorite grossest one is mayonnaise on the hair, it stinks so much but the hair becomes so shiny after that.

I used to have these allergies when I eat high protein foods such as eggs and shrimps. We used to treat the rashes with ointments as prescribed by the dermatologist but what really cured them were herbs and boiled guava leaves as prepared by my grandmother. She lives in the provinces and back there, these special recipes does great wonders. I don't have the allergies right now and could eat any kind of food. Cheers! Happy Posting :)

Wow that sounds really amazing! I always think that herbs really do wonders and it's breath-taking what they can do with our skin and bodies. No wonder our Chinese medicine (based on herbs) is really popular here.

I use commercial products in general. Very rarely I use some natural remedies, like salt as a scrub(I seldom use scrub, because I have thin, sensitive, dry skin and there's no need to use the scrub). I put salt on my wet skin, and massage skin for the moment, after that i rinse off my skin. And it's so soft:)

Be sure I like natural remedies because I dislike medical stuff. But I have to tell you that I also use commerical skincare products because I have no more time to use the natural things for my skincare.

Right because we have really busy life, it's always more convenient to open up a bottle and put the stuff on our face and that's it. I kind of do the mix of two things. During the weekends when I have more time, I would mix some stuff myself and give my skin a treat. During the weekdays, I would just use readily made stuff.

For awhile I tried making my own skin care products from natural fruits, but then my skin started breaking out in pimples and rashes. So, that was the end of my beauty product experimentation. For just a few pennies per use, most over the counter store bought beauty products provide superior face care, without the potential side effects. And, most have been tested on volunteers. If you have to make your own face care products, avoid tomatos or anything that might strip the natural oils from your face. Banana works well, and is very moisturizing. Also try plain slices of apple as an overall face tightening solution. Best of luck!

Natural remedies. Commercial ones uses chemicals which aggravates your skins. The inside content of commercial products are almost chemicals that may harm not your skin but other sensitive parts of your body. To avoid that used only the natural and God's given gift remedies.
