Hey Guys please help me out...suggest me something sensible....I am a teavcher as u all kow0---and that too at a very very young age-----that too u know...okay? What I wanna know is that is it really required for me to get dressed up very formally being a teacher in school....i mean once or twice I heard this.//....Mr. Gulati you are a teacher now, irrespective of your age.....so please thing before you wear what u do.... But i never wore anything obscene.....Presentl, since last 6 months I guess, I have beeen putting on jeans (Always) with a vey causal shiort or a t shirt.... and a pair of semi casual half leather shoes.... sometimes a wrist band or two....and walays a hairband so my long hair do not distrb me,,,, is it inappropriat? pleasee suggest...all mah kids and students love me ....becasue they feel me near to themselves, close to themselves (actually the age difference too is very less!!!) thats why....infact i never heard of any ill comment about my clothing style....what do you suggest me?

I guess it is somewhat important to maintain an image. Image is somewhat tied to respect. It is hard to respect a teacher if your first impression of him is him in e.g. shorts and sandals. That's why teachers (guys) normally dress in at least long sleeves and pants. You can throw in a tie and even wear a jacket depending on which level of kids you are teaching.

Yes, I love the feeling of being over dressed and for people to say there is a well dressed man when they see me walk by.

I think it's good to have a rapport with the kids but also there is a line between you and your students so I suppose subconsciously this is also reflected in the dress style you should wear..I am terrible..I can wear clothes like my teenage nieces to blend in at home..but if I go out I have to dress according to my age.So every place has its dress code..Maybe wearing some combat slyle trousers with bagy shirts rather than jeans might just do the trick..not too formal but not too teenagy..what do you think?
