Is there a generation between you and your parents?

I love my parents very much and they love me too but we always have different opinions about many things. They hope that I can follow their opinions but sometimes I think their opinions are out of date. But I don't like to make them unhappy. Do you have conflicts with your parents? Do you think it comes from generation gap? How do you solve the conflicts?

I've always been a dutiful child. As a matter of fact, I never argued with my parents. Maybe because I prefer to have peace rather than engage in word war. As a mother myself now, I came to realize that both my parents are wise in their words. Whatever they taught me were true. Our parents always like their children to grow up to be a good person. Try to be more reasonable in a calm way and give your parents some spaces.

I am lucky in that my parents, especially my Mom is very open and really does not conform to the thought processes of their peers. So there has not been that kind of conflict ever. And I am the same way with my kids. They are teens now but i don't hold on to my 80's ways...LOL! So in other words with us, my Mom, myself and my daughter could all hit Hot Topic for instance and have agreat time. But I can see that for some it is an issue. Great Topic.
