I would like to open my response by asking what difference this would make to someone who doesnt live in this country. I would like to understand how someone who does not live here can possibly judge what does or doesnt make a good leader for my country. Competence is relative to the interests served for a particular situation and day. Are they competent to handle domestic economics? Competent to deal with issues such as illegal imigration? Do they have the understanding of constitutional laws and obligations? Do they have an understanding of foriegn affairs? This is the point most people outside our country look at when judging the "competency" of our leaders. Unfortunately, this is only one aspect out of many when we consider who we vote for and more often than not, not the top on someone's list. Thses things don't often affect our people's day to day lives and we tend to focus more on domestic issues when we make the big choice. Who will make my income situation better? Who can introduce legislation that will make it easier for me to start a business? Who can create an environment that will make me more successful as an individual? Who is going to best look out for the interests of our elderly? These are the issues that most americans are interested in. The ones that affect us on a more direct level. We as americans are seen by the world and stereotyped as arrogant. Is it not arrogent to feel that you have a hand in who we choose as our leaders when none of those issues outside of nternational affairs affect you'r day to day living?

ROFLOL, thanks for the laugh. ;) I know you didn't mean for it to be funny. It's sad, but true. that's what makes it funny. I'm with you, I don't care, but I wish we could get someone who was good. unfortunatly, our choices are usually BAD, WORSE, & LETS NOT EVEN GO THERE.
